Norsk Fjord Beret
Author's Note: This pattern is a mix of Fair Isle and Norwegian techniques. I have used the traditional 2 colors per round, but rather than catching the color not in use every 4 or 5 stitches leaving floats, I have woven the carried yarn every stitch, creating a denser fabric that knits up tighter than traditional Fair Isle. My knitting is normally tight so tension is important and depends somewhat on the weight of the yarn used for the color work. I recommend Dale's Heilo and/or Falk for MC. The color work is variety of stash busting wool yarns including sport, DK and light worsted weights. I have given 2 colors on the chart. One in autumn colors and one in greys. A mix of any of the colors is fine. Happy knitting! -junieann
